Rigger Options

There are a choice of rigger options for the Filippi Racing and Adaptive boats based on the working direction and on the material used.

Based on the working direction Filippi built boats with riggers working on compression (Aliante and Tubular) and on pulling direction (Wing)

All the Wing and Aliante riggers have a choice of Carbon and Aluminium material based on the level of stiffness related to the individual rower technique and characteristics.

All the Tubular riggers are on Carbon material only.

Aluminium Wing Rigger for Scull or SweepThe aluminum riggers are the first ones produced by our company and fit on whichever requirements.

Very simple the adjustment of the oarlock, using the buttonhole and the drillings of attachment to the boat. This versatility allows you to use this rigger for different rowers without particular adjustments.

The part of the tube on the boat isn’t perfectly transversal in comparison with the direction stern-bow but lightly inclined to unload in a right way forces on both sides of the boat.

The rigger is provided with also a backstay. The wing rigger allows a minor solicitation of the boat because of the fixing system we’re using. In fact the profile of the boat remains the same, during the stroke because there are less solicitations.Even in case of clashes or breaks, it’s possible to repair it at low costs.
Carbon Wing Rigger for Scull or SweepCarbon Wing Rigger is a very stiff rigging compared to the aluminium rig. It is very stiff so it has more for the athlete to work with and it is very easy to move around. The Slide beds on sculling boats built into saxboards to allow better balance and calf clearance. It is provided also with a backstay for this rigger.

This model of rigger is very simple to move the oarlock towards bow by a total of 6 cm. In order to orientate the pin you can get advantages of the system patented as “Pitch Infinity” which allows all the possible adjustments and it is more free on the hull too.

Main advantages of a carbon rigger: The structure is completely in carbon with a layering developed to optimize the stiffness of the rigger at the critical points. For sweep boats the rigger is perfectly symmetric and it will be easy and fast to move it from side to side at the same seat position. The locking system of the rigger allows infinitive adjustments of the span.
Reverse Carbon 'Aliante' Wing Rigger for Scull or SweepAliante, the new carbon sculling wing rigger, working in compression, is placed behind the rower’s back and is the natural evolution of this type of configuration. Something more than the shift from the 3 - 4 stay standard aluminium rigger to the tubular carbon one.

It is 30% more resistant than other riggers also which gives it an advantage to the other riggers.

Aliante uses an adjusting system similar to the tubular carbon one. But here it’s possible to adjust the span with a simple 3 bolt control. The carbon hilt (or “C”) is similar to the tubular carbon one as well, giving the opportunity of innumerable adjustments to the pin’s pitch. The adjustment of the oarlock, towards the bow is like the classic wing rigger one: + 2,+4,+6 cm. from the working line. The height by cm.2 is allowed by the washers placed inside the carbon hilt. In addition the simple wedges to be inserted on the gunwale, you can adjust the height over cm. 2.
2 Stay Tubular Carbon for Scull or SweepCarbon tubular riggers have been made to get the maximum result in terms of energetic transfer from rower to oar. The search of materials, their geometry and balance as well, has been made to satisfy the demands of the rowers who want to take the greatest possible advantage of their power.

The presence of a spherical joint allows to get infinite adjustments as for the lateral pitch, in addition to the possibility of adjusting span and height. The development of the a.m. truss bases itself on the possibility of concentrating the pushing on the rigger in compression in order to transmit the strength in the direction of advancement. In that way it’s possible to eliminate the accumulation of elastic energy which makes the truss of the aluminium riggers be liable to deformations.

The profile of the carbon consists of a truss with two tubes fully in carbon, one as support of the other and one operating in compression. Our riggers distinguish themselves for the innovation of the production system.

By the high pressure, the fabrics will be perfectly bounded, assuring a long life of the tube and performing also the distribution of the loadings among the fibres. That means an increasing of endurance and stiffness and a reduction of the volumes of the resin in comparison with the fibres.
